Will your cameras work with PARVEK?
Most professional IP cameras installed in the last several years will. Here is the baseline we work to, what we recommend where identification matters, and how to get an initial answer on your own estate.
What a camera needs to carry detection
Resolution
2 MP / 1080p or higher.
Frame rate
15 fps or higher for general analytics.
Codec
H.264 or H.265.
Streaming
RTSP, or supported ONVIF streaming.
Network
Stable IP network connectivity to the appliance.
Image quality
Usable day and night image quality for the scene.
2 MP is a compatibility minimum, not a guarantee that every AI capability will perform equally well. We assess the actual scene, lens, lighting and target distance before committing to a capability on a given camera.
Where to go above the minimum
4 MP or higher for identification
Recommended where face identification, license plates or long-distance recognition is required. Placement, lens, lighting and target pixel density matter as much as resolution.
ONVIF Profile T preferred
For new deployments. Profile T supports H.264/H.265, metadata, events and other advanced video-streaming functions.
Check a camera right now
Enter what you know about one camera and the capability you want from it. This checks against the baseline above and tells you what would still need looking at — including when the answer is no.
Cameras we see regularly
Representative examples, not a blanket guarantee. Compatibility is model, firmware and stream dependent — we confirm the specific models on your site rather than the brand.
We do not claim that every model from these vendors is compatible, and we will not tell you a camera works until we have seen its stream.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does 2 MP mean every capability will work?
No — and this is the most important thing on this page. 2 MP is a compatibility minimum, not a performance promise. A 2 MP camera covering a doorway at 15 feet will support far more than the same camera covering a yard at 200 feet. We assess the actual scene, lens, lighting and target distance before committing to a capability on a given camera.
My cameras are from a brand not on your list. Do they work?
Probably, if they stream RTSP or supported ONVIF. The vendor list is representative of professional IP cameras we see regularly, not a compatibility whitelist. Send the models and we will check.
What if some cameras qualify and others do not?
That is the normal outcome. Capabilities are configured per camera, so the ones covering your dock can run counting and restricted areas while older cameras elsewhere simply record. You are not obliged to bring the whole estate to one standard.
Do you need physical access to check?
Not for the initial review. Makes, models and a screenshot of the camera views tell us most of it. A site assessment confirms the rest — network path, lighting through a real night, and mounting.
What about analog cameras?
They need an encoder to produce an IP stream, or replacement. If your estate is largely analog, that is worth knowing before anything else — tell us and we will be straight about whether this is the right time.
